For all of you that find this manifestation business all a little too woo-woo – hear us out. We know (just like everyone else) that you make money through determination, perseverance, and hard work. It’s simple. It’s straightforward. It’s common sense. Those that truly make it, don’t get there with only luck (or magic). If we want to succeed, we take steps and do it. There is no easy way out and if we find one, well it won’t last. The old adage “nothing’s for free” comes to mind.
But in practice, why does it always seem so much more difficult than that? Why isn’t it as straightforward as we have been taught? We can’t find the right job that pays enough. We have more bills than money. We have everything under control and then something happens. The stability always seems just slightly out of reach. We do everything right and somehow it sometimes still isn’t enough.
What if in addition to all the determination, the perseverance, and the hard work, we also need to change our mindset? What if it isn’t enough to just follow steps? What if we also need to believe the steps will work, that we deserve for them to work? That my friends, is manifestation.
In today’s reading, we see the fruit of our labor. We are being told that all the work we have been doing is finally going to lead to somewhere. But do we just stop there? Is that it? Nope. We keep at it. We don’t give up right when we see the finish line. We run harder.
Step 1
We start with a goal. What is it that we want to be able to do? Do we want more money in general? Do we want a job that pays more? Do we want to not worry about how we will pay our bills?
Step 2
Once we know what we want, we figure out what we are going to do about it. We are talking applying to better jobs, looking for other sources of income, budgeting the money that we do have, etc. And then, here is where it gets woo-woo…
Step 3
We take a moment and believe that it can happen. We convince ourselves that it is actually going to happen. We don’t do that thing where we begrudgingly go through the actions because we feel like we have to or because someone told us to. No, we imagine it – all of it – coming true.
Why do we do this?
So that the fear, anxiety, low self-esteem and myriad of whatever else that has the potential to hold us back, doesn’t. We don’t allow ourselves to get in our own way.
This is where affirmations come in. We know you’ve heard of them. We get it – it’s trendy. It makes people roll their eyes, but guess what? It’s also uplifting. It’s also slowly but surely changing your mindset so that you don’t get in your own way.
You repeat these. You write them down. You chant them. You sing them. You do whatever you need to do until you truly believe them. And then you run harder towards the finish line.
Here are a few of our favorite affirmations:
My actions create prosperity.
I am worthy of wealth.
I am proud of my accomplishments.
I let go of all worry surrounding my finances.
I am worthy of financial security.
