Angel numbers are sequences of repeating numbers that you see throughout your daily life. While the numbers are usually in sequences of three or four, the sequence can really be any length as long as one or a series of the numbers repeat. The most common place for people to see angel numbers are on digital clocks or license plates, however these numbers can appear anywhere – on receipts, billboards, television, online videos, calendars, your cell phone, etc.
It should be noted that there’s a difference between catching the angel number when you glance at something and waiting for the clock to change so that you see the angel number. These messages aren’t something that you can (or should) force or encourage to happen. Just like you wouldn’t be able to force another person to send you messages or speak with you, you aren’t able to force or ensure that you receive messages from Spirit.
When you are being sent a sign, the angel numbers will seem to pop up out of nowhere and will appear to be following you until you acknowledge that you have received the message. This can look like glancing at the clock at 11:11 am and then at 1:11 pm or going out shopping and having the total of your purchases amount to $111. If it seems like a certain set of numbers seem to follow you everywhere you go, then that is something you should pay attention to.
Angel numbers can also appear as something personal to you. If you have a loved one whose birthday is December 21st and you continue to glance at a clock at 12:21pm or keep seeing that sequence of numbers, that could be a sign from your loved one if they have passed or a sign from the other side about that person. The message does not always have to be from the loved one who has passed. The message can be about or for someone living that you know.
While there have been several books written about angel numbers that also include definitions/meanings for each number, one of the easiest ways to find out what an angel number means is by googling it. If you enter the number plus the words “angel number meaning” into Google, the first result item listed is usually the meaning of that angel number shown in bold.
What is interesting about using this method to find the meaning is that, what shows up in the results list first can change. I have found that each time I search an angel number, the meaning changes slightly but is somehow still accurate and appropriate for the moment in which I saw the angel number. The reason for this variation is similar to what happens with Tarot cards or other divination tools that people use – while there may be an agreed upon definition of what certain things mean based on history and other peoples’ experiences, at the end of the day each message is unique to you. Your own experiences and understanding of your life and the world around you impacts what certain things can mean to you. This is why we are encouraged to follow our intuition if there is something that isn’t clear or doesn’t seem to make sense. When you are unsure about the meaning of something, ask Spirit for help and then follow what your intuition dictates.
